  • UKSIF will organise the UK’s first Ownership Day on Tuesday 12 March 2013

    14 January 2013

Ownership Day is a focused initiative about the importance of ownership as a general investment management practice to protect the value of assets.  The aim is to raise demand for high quality ownership to the same level as demand for effective stock selection. In addition, 2013 Ownership Day is about demand for professional skills. The long-term aim is to increase demand for high quality professional ownership of the assets managed on their behalf and to make this a material factor in investment manager selection.

    On Ownership Day, UKSIF will:

    • call on private and institutional asset owners to ask their financial advisers and asset managers what is being done to protect the long-term value of their assets using professional ownership. Encourage beneficiaries to ask institutional asset owners.

    • support leading asset owners and asset managers to highlight examples of good practice.
